Dual Language Immersion
Dual Language Immersion at WCHS
In 2025–2026, Warsaw Community High School expanded the Dual Language Immersion program to the high school level.
As freshmen, DLI students take AP Spanish and the final sections of the Culture, History and Media course. At the end of 9th grade, students take the AP Spanish exam. Those who earn a score of 3 or higher will move into college-level Spanish coursework through a university partner during grades 10–12. It will also qualify them for the Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency (CoMP), which will be noted on their transcript, and students will wear a special medallion at graduation recognizing their achievement.
Students who stay on the DLI pathway and complete the five college courses offered in high school can graduate with more than 20 college credits.
By the time they graduate, students will have received seven years of dual language instruction, developing strong bilingual proficiency along with enhanced cognitive skills, cultural awareness and global readiness.
Secondary: 7th-12th Model
