Warsaw Community High Schools Bands Earn Top Honors at ISSMA Organizational Festival

WARSAW, IN - The Warsaw Community High School (WCHS) Concert Band and Wind Ensemble both earned top honors at the Indiana State School Music Association Organizational Festival, held at Concord High School.
The Concert Band performed in Group III and presented Kinetic Dances by Randall D. Standridge, I Still Think About You by Jorge Vargas and Blue Ridge Reel by Brian Balmages. The ensemble earned a Gold with Distinction rating on their prepared music and a Gold rating in sight-reading.
The Wind Ensemble took the stage in Group I competition for the first time in many years. Their program included Fate of the Gods by Steven Reineke, Ballad for Benny by Philip Sparke and Hands Across the Sea by John Philip Sousa, arranged by Keith Brion and Loras Schissel. The group received perfect scores from all three judges on their prepared pieces, earning a Gold with Distinction rating, along with a Gold in sight-reading.
