United Way is partnering with Warsaw Schools to launch START UNITED, a summer experience for 1,000 children who need a boost before the first day of school. This partnership provides an on-ramp for students who need to regain any momentum that has been lost since March. Routine is so important for kids. It gives them the security they need to explore and take risks. United Way is ready to take the first step in helping our kids reset their routines.
Read United matches volunteers with a classroom where they will share stories via Zoom call. United Way provides books and prompt cards. Volunteers read once a week for 15 minutes for 3 weeks. 100 volunteers are needed. Sign up at United Way’s website, https://www.unitedwaykosciusko.org/
Registration deadline is July 19th. #ForwardTogether #wcsmission #STARTUNITED

Shooting Camp (Grades 1-8) July 13-15 Tiger Den (Door 29) Grades 1-4 3:00-4:00 $25 Grades 5-8 4:00-6:00 $50 Every coach loves a great shooter. Shooting is not only one of the most important skills in the game of basketball, it is also the one skill players enjoy most. Campers will learn the fundamentals it takes to be a great shooter. Proper footwork, release point and follow through are among the basics that will be taught. Advanced shooters will learn to shoot off the move, as well as off the dribble. Finishing School (Grades 5-8) July 20-22 Tiger Den (Door 29) Grades 5-8 4:00-6:00 $50 Both Camps Grades 5-8 $80 Great players are not just great shooters, they are great scorers. They can create scoring opportunities for themselves and others. They can also finish around the rim. Campers will learn moves such as first foot finishes, stride stops, pro hops, bounds and outside-inside finishes. Each move will be broken down and explained in detail for campers to easily understand. This camp is a must for anyone wanting to be a consistent scorer in high school and beyond.
