Warsaw, IN – Warsaw Community Schools (WCS) is excited to announce the addition of 20 new Avive automated external defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the district. The new units will replace older models and expand AED coverage to the Warsaw Community High School campus and non-school district buildings. The project was made possible through a generous $33,980 donation from Health First Kosciusko.
In total, the district has implemented a comprehensive AED plan, with Avive AEDs placed in secondary schools and ZOLL AEDs deployed in elementary schools, thanks to a prior donation from the K21 Health Foundation in August 2023.
“Having additional and newer AEDs in our district provides extra safety measures in case of a medical emergency,” said Tracey Akers, WCS Welcome Center Coordinator. “These devices are an important step as we work toward certification as a ‘Heart Safe’ school district through Project ADAM.”
