Warsaw, IN -Three Warsaw Community High School seniors were recognized by Todos Juntos, a Latino volunteer organization that focuses on student mentorship for Hispanic students. Presenting on behalf of Todos Juntos was Marlene Betances and Roberto Perez-de-Frias.
Seniors Diego Martinez, Brian Navarro, and Yahir Ortiz-Ortiz each received a Dell laptop, backpack, and certificate. The award was sponsored by Ivy Tech, Grace College, and Zimmer Biomet.
Luisa Davis, Co-Director of Counseling at WCHS, assisted in the nomination process to recommend students who participated in the college and career expo on May 7 during First Fridays in Warsaw. Todos Juntos shared information at the expo on career opportunities and pathways with the hope of inspiring students to dream big. Marlene Betances added, “Our hope is that Latino students will connect with mentors, have aspirations, know what it takes, get support, and realize their dreams.”
