Abbi Richcreek, PLTW teacher at Edgewood Middle School presented at the Warsaw Rotary Club with her colleague Sam Cook and Edgewood student Lucy Ray. Mrs. Richcreek shared how she learned about GoBabyGo! - a program that offers increased mobility to children with physical limitations.
Mrs. Richcreek went on to talk about funding, mentors, community volunteers, donors, and the children who receive their vehicle at no cost to the family.
Lucy Ray shared how she was surprised by the hands-on engineering challenges, how much she learned from the engineer-mentors, and how she loved working with the children to customize a vehicle for their unique needs.
Thanks go out to Abbi Richcreek & Sam Cook for developing the GoBabyGo! program, to those in the community who give their time & talents, and to the students who go above and beyond to make a special person's life a little easier.
Thank you to the Rotary Club for their invitation to share & for the club members who stepped forward to sponsor two cars!
GoBabyGo is ready to kick off another year with dates already set to launch on March 18th and present the children with their own remote-controlled vehicle at the Downtown Warsaw 1st Friday Celebration on May 7th.
